Judicial Election to Fill District Court Vacancy CANCELLED - Names of two nominees to be sent to Governor
An election meeting of the Tenth Judicial District Bar had been scheduled for Tuesday, July 8 to select nominees for the vacant District Court Judge position resulting from Judge Fullwood’s retirement.  Two persons, Craig Croom and Walter Rand, submitted the required information for their names to be placed on the ballot.  Therefore, in accordance with the process set forth in N.C.G.S 7A-142 and the Bylaws of the Tenth Judicial District Bar, as confirmed after consultation with the North Carolina State Bar, the elections have been cancelled, and Craig Croom and Walter Rand will be the nominees submitted to Governor Pat McCrory for his consideration in filling this vacancy. The term of this position will be the remainder of the term to have been served by Judge Fullwood, which ends December 31, 2014.
